Join us at the France UK Digital Colloque in Paris on 5th July 2018 and be a part of comprehensive and open exchanges on artificial intelligence, open government, future regulation and other key issues transforming our economies and societies.
Keynotes
Keynotes include Mr. Mounir Mahjoubi, French Minister of State for Digital and Mr. Matt Hancock, British Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Background
The UK and France are world leaders in the digitisation of public services and developing a data ecosystem which supports policy makers, corporates and startups using data from across the spectrum of closed, shared and open data.
This Colloque builds on the success of the inaugural UK France Data Summit 2017 in London and the UK-France Summit in Sandhurst in January 2018, where both countries agreed to foster bilateral discussions on digital issues.

10.45 - 11.45 - PANEL 1: Open Source (Meeting Room - Salle de Presse) - exploring the role of open source technologies, transparency and international cooperation.
France and the UK are two of the most digitally advanced governments in the world. Both are leaders on developing high quality, user-centric digital services and promoting innovation in government. This panel will provide an opportunity to discuss case studies and best practices in open government.
During this discussion, the audience will hear from Tchap messenger (based on Riot), developed by France. This service enables stronger public-private partnership and at the same time, it ensures government is not bound to existing private sector instant messaging services.
This panel will look at closer future collaboration between the UK and France through agreement of an MoU on digital government.

French and UK experts are engaging the conversation in the search for a consensus to effectively define a set of operational principles that can serve as a frame of reference for productive debate on platform regulation.
